VIVID | July

Der Juli, das war Sommer. Das war Eis essen, das in der Hand schmilzt, das war sich kaum rühren, weil jede Bewegung anstrengend war. Das war, in den Himmel schauen, die Augen fest zumachen und die Sonne spüren. Das war wenig denken, weil das Hirn dazu sowieso nicht mehr in der Lage war. Das war endlich abschalten, den Körper auf Sparflamme und die Gedanken standen still.

Der Juli, das war für Casey ein Ausflug mit der Firma, nach Wien und Bratislava. Bei dreißig Grad im Schatten Sightseeing. Aber der Juli war auch ein Umdenken, vor allem im Kleiderschrank, die Temperaturen haben für kurze Sachen begeistert. In alle Stilrichtungen, aber dennoch wurde schwarz-weiß die Treue gehalten.

Der Juli, das war für Eden eine Zeit voller Neuanfänge. Ein neuer Lebensabschnitt, die Matura (das Abi) hinter sich gebracht und ein Start ins Berufsleben. Der Anfang in der Fahrschule, gerade raus aus der Schule und schon wieder geht’s ans Pauken. Für den Schein, für die Unabhängigkeit. Schritte ins echte Leben.

Der Juli, ein Monat mit vorproduzierten Outfits – und es hat uns richtig gefehlt, sonntags für die Shootings rauszugehen, das Vor und das Hinter der Kamera, die Spontanität, die Aktivität. Wir freuen uns auf August und Sonntage vor und hinter der Kamera.

Wir versuchen uns kurz zu halten und die Bilder sprechen zu lassen, aber vorher wollen wir unbedingt wissen, wie euer Juli war? Was habt ihr bei der Hitze angestellt? Wart ihr schon Urlaub? Wo wart ihr, habt ihr Tipps? Und habt ihr auch fleißig Sommersachen geshoppt?

DIE MINIONS

Banana.!! Ach, wir lieben die kleinen gelben Kerlchen mit der verrückten Sprache und dem Streben nach Bösem, wir lieben sie einfach. Trotz alldem – und wahrscheinlich, weil wir uns den Trailer einfach zu oft angesehen haben – waren wir etwas enttäuscht vom Film. Er ist nicht unbedingt für Kinder geeignet, viele der Gags versteht man nur, wenn man sich ein bisschen besser auskennt, die Anspielungen scheinen mehr auf die Eltern als auf die Kinder ausgerichtet zu sein.

Hat jemand von euch auch „Die Minions“ gesehen? Und hattet ihr den gleichen Eindruck?

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS

Oh Gott, das ist wieder einer dieser Hypes, darüber könnte man gut montags schreiben… Um sich mal so richtig aufzuregen. Casey hatte im Vorhinein eigentlich nur Positives von der Serie gehört, deshalb hat sie sie vorgeschlagen, nachdem wir die dritte Staffel von OITNB durch hatten. Schwerer Fehler.

Das ist wie Desperate Housewives für Teenager und ohne Witz. Ohne einen Funken Humor. Ein Drama jagt das nächste, nie ist irgendjemand glücklich oder erlebt einfach so etwas Gutes, absolut jeder hat Leichen im Keller – das nervt auf Dauer einfach nur.

Was uns außerdem noch ganz besonders an PLL nervt: Diese Serie ist doch einfach nur eine Aneinanderreihung an Klischees, die in Horrorfilmen bedient werden! WTF.?! Und zwar wirklich quer durch alle Genres. Und das macht die Serie noch berechenbarer, als sie sowieso schon ist. Klar, wer A ist, ist unheimlich interessant, wird auch nicht verraten, und man kann es auch nicht wirklich erraten. Aber niemand will wissen, was in zwanzig Minuten passiert.

Wir sind jetzt bald mit Staffel vier fertig - natürlich konnten wir nicht aufhören zu schauen, das geht dann doch nicht - und hoffen einfach, dass bald alles vorbei ist. Aber Staffel sieben soll ja schon in Planung sein. Geld regiert nunmal die Film-Biz-Welt...

July, this was summer. It was eating ice which melts in ones hands, this was being tired of moving because everything was so strenuous. This was looking into the sky, closing the eyes and feeling the sun. Finally, this was switching off, to setting the body on low flame and letting the thoughts stand still.

For Casey, July was an excursion with the company to Vienna and Bratislava. Sightseeing at thirty degrees in shade. But July was also a change in thinking, above all in the wardrobe, the temperatures have eroused enthusiasm for short things. In all kind of directions, but still the loyalty was held to black and white.

For Eden, July was a time full of new beginnings. A new chapter in life, the school-leaving exam was getting done and over and the start in the professional life. The beginning in the driving school, just out of school and then it's again about studying. For the pretence, for the independence. Steps in real life.

July was a month full of preproducted outfits - and we missed it, to go out on Sundays for the shootings, the in front and the behind the camera, the spontaneity, the activity. We are excited for August and the sundays in front and behind the camera.

We try to keep ourselves short and let the pictures speak, but before that we want to know: How was your uly? What have you done in the heat? Were you on vacation already? Where were you, do you have tipps? And have you also bought summer things?

THE MINIONS

Banana.!! Oh we love the small yellow fellows with the mad language and the striving for a bad person, we simply love them. In spite of this - and probably because we watched the trailer too often - we were dissapointed of the movie. It is not really suitable for children. One understands many of the gags only if one knows all a little bit better, the allusions seem to be straightened more on the parents than on the children.

Has somebody also seen "The Minions"? And did you have the same impression?

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS

Oh God, one of these hypes again, one could write well about it on Mondays... To get excited so properly. Casey has heard only positive things about the series, because of this she suggested it, to watch, after the third season of OITNB. Big mistake.

Somehow it's like Desperate Housewives for teenagers without the jokes. Without any sense of humor. One drama hunts the next, no one is happy at anytime or simply experiences such a god thing, absolutely everybody has a skeleton in the closet - this irritates for the long haul.

What irritates us particularly in PLL: The series is ust a sequence in stereotypes which are served in horror films. WTF.?! Namely straight through all genres. And this makes the series even more computable than it is anyways. Sure, no one knows who is a, really interesting, one can't guess it. But no one wants to know what happens in twenty minutes.

Soon we will finish season four - of course we couldn't just stop watching, that's not possible - and just hoping, that everything is over soon. But season seven is planned. Money rules this show-bzw-world..
