Ich werde nie vergessen, wie Slipknot noch auf MTV gelaufen ist, ich lauter geschaltet habe und meine Mutter mich angesehen hat, als wäre ich vom Teufel besessen.
Das ist das Erste und wohl auch das Lustigste, das mir zu dieser Band einfällt. Meine Mutter hasst diese Band so abgöttisch, obwohl sie Musik eigentlich gut findet. Aber ihr Aussehen irritiert sie einfach so sehr. Mich zugegebener Maßen auch, aber so tragisch ist es nicht. Irgendwie finde ich es sogar ganz gut - hat Wiedererkennungswert.
Heute musste ich an Snuff denken. Ein Lied, das so überhaupt nicht Slipknot ist, aber trotzdem lange Zeit eines meiner Lieblingslieder und ganz oben auf meiner Playlist war. Es ist einfach ein wunderschönes Lied über eine tragische Liebe.
Aber wisst ihr, was mich wirklich aufregt? Immer wieder kommen die Medien damit, dass irgendwelche Menschen, Slipknot als Motivation für ihre Amokläufe sehen. Ich meine.. Videospiele, Bands.. was noch alles? Man wird doch nicht "böse", weil man bestimmte Dinge gerne macht. Das ist einfach kompletter Schwachsinn.
Wie findet ihr dieses Lied und die Band im Allgemeinen? Und wie steht ihr zu den Aussagen der Medien?

I will never forget, as MTV still played Slipknot, I turned the music louder and my mother looked at me as if I was obsessed by the devil.
This is the first and the funniest thing which comes to my mind, when I think of the band. My mother hates then so idolatrously altough she likes the music somehow. But their appearance simply confuses her so much. It also confuses me but it isn't so tragically. I somehow like it - it has recognition value.
Today I had to think of Snuff. A song, which isn't Slipknot at all but nevertheless it was one of my favorite songs for a long time and even was on top of my playlist. It is simply a wonderful song about a tragic love.
But do you know what irritates me so much? The media often says that some people take Slipknot as a motivation for their rampages. I mean.. videogames, bands.. what else? One isn't "bad" because one likes certain things. This is bullshit.
What do you think about the song and the band in general? What is your opinion about the media's statement?
