Where did you sleep last Night war ursprünglich ein appalachischer Volksong, den aber unzählige Bands gecovert haben. Ich finde ja, Nirvana hat das am besten gemacht, aber vielleicht seht ihr das ja anders.
Das Lied wurde nur mündlich überliefert und so hat sich der Text im Laufe der Jahre immer wieder ein bisschen verändert. Man merkt, dass manche Textzeilen auch in anderen Liedern vorkommen.
Nirvana begleitet mich schon eine ganze Weile. Als Kind habe ich sie unbewusst gehört, weil meine Mutter sie sehr mochte und irgendwann habe auch ich dann kapiert, dass das Nirvana ist. Und ich kann mich noch erinnern, wie fertig ich war, als ich erfahren habe, dass Kurt Cobain schon vor meiner Geburt gestorben ist. So ungefähr war das bei Falco auch, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte.
Ich mag Nirvana wirklich sehr, aber ein bisschen muss ich mich schon aufregen. Über die Mädels, die Nirvana-Merchandise von H&M, Forever 21, usw. tragen und nicht mal wissen, was das überhaupt ist. Eine Bekannte hatte mal so eines an und ich habe dann erwähnt, dass ich gar nicht wusste, dass sie Nirvana hört. Sie war dann schon etwas perplex und fragte mich, was ich wohl meine. Der Grund war folgender: Sie hat sich das Shirt nur gekauft, weil der "Smiley" drauf war. Sowas verstehe ich einfach nicht.
Falls euch das Lied auch bekannt vorkommt, aber ihr nicht wisst woher, gebe ich euch einen kleinen Tipp: die Mars-Werbung ;)

The song was orally recorded and because of this the lyrics changed in the course of the years over and over again. One also notices some text lines in other songs.
Nirvana accompanies me for quite a while now. As I child I heard them unconsciously because my mother liked them very much and then sometimes I also got that that this is Nirvana. And I still can remember how bushed I was when I found out that Kurt Cobain has already died before my birth. This was approx. also like that with Falco but this is another story.
I really like Nirvana but sometimes I really get angry. About these girls who buy Nirvana-Merchandise by H&M, Forever 21, etc. and don't even know what it is. A friend wore something like this and I mentioned that I didn't know at all that she listens to Nirvana. Then she asked me what I mean. The reason was: She only bought the shirt because this cute "smiley" was on it. I simply don't understand somthing like this.
