„Do you think that I will wear it like this? With this black belt?”
“You can wear this anytime, at work, to go out, or just now … and what do you think? Does this sweater fit?”
“Yes, it’s pretty.”
“Isn’t it? I just can’t decide if it wears out or if it slims down. And the neckline is even a bit too low or what do you think?”

And this is the moment when I want to say to this one that she shouldn’t buy that blouse, and the other one, that the sweater is quite pretty but if she’s constantly plucking at it she definitely should put it back there!

If you don’t like something, no matter if it’s something in the closet or whatever – the meal of the best friend – then just say something. And no matter what, don’t buy that blouse and you don’t buy that sweater. These are the pieces one wears at least five hundred times, in moments where one doesn’t have anything to wear. Then one wears it for like two minutes, not longer, because one plucks at least twenty times, the neckline up and down.

And exactly these pieces are the reason why we don’t have anything to wear.

Why do we squeeze into something which we don’t like or feel uncomfortable wearing it? I mean… how many – different – clothing stores are out there? And every single presents another style, no matter if an affiliated group or a boutique, one finds something in at least one of them. And you spend the same amount of money on it – but for something you really wear. And not for something which one sorts out, or sell on vinted.com and co.

Maybe I’ll say something next time. Just unsell to buy something. And then I think: How would I react? But I don’t ask myself questions like this. I try something on and I like it or not. End. Unsure? Then I don’t take it.

And this is the reason why I’m so glad that we post less now, why I’m happy that we don’t tie ourselves to some standards, which are not worth fulfilling. This is the reason why today there’s a personal text and no review with matched outfit – it simply didn’t work out with the outfit. And if one shouldn’t do one thing: Squeeze oneself into something that won’ t fit.

  1. Wise words! I know right. It's funny how we sometimes go on a crazy shopping mode and end up with ill-fitting clothes/shoes. We need to take a breath and pause before we regret ;) xx
