OUTFIT | Prom Season: Monochrome Midi Dress

Ist es bezeichnend, dass Stephen Kings Carrie das erste Bild ist, das mir in den Sinn kommt, wenn ich an (Abschluss-)Bälle denke? Am besten, ich lasse das jetzt erst mal im Raum stehen.

Immer im Oktober beginnt die Ballsaison, immer im Oktober stehe ich das erste Mal bis ungefähr Mai vor der Frage: Was anziehen? Besonders schwer fällt mir immer der Spagat zwischen dem, wovon ich glaube, es sei mein Stil (so ein bisschen was von clean, ein bisschen was von rockig, ein bisschen was ausgefallen und ein bisschen was von girly – oder so) und dem was als Dresscode für Bälle gilt. Die sogenannte Abendgarderobe.

Leider bedeutet das nicht, dass ich im Pyjama oder Jogginghose auftauchen darf, deshalb nutze ich die Gelegenheit um Kleider zu tragen.

Dieses hier finde ich wirklich toll, es ist irgendwie genau die richtige Mischung aus meinem Stil (s. oben) und einem Ballkleid. Der Stoff ist eher fest, was ich aber gar nicht so schlecht finde für die Länge, denn so kommt die Form richtig schön raus. Ich mag A-Linie einfach, ganz egal ob das „in“ ist wie gerade im Moment oder nicht – wie vor Jahren, als ich mich überwunden habe, Röcke zu tragen und ich dann diesen einen meinen fand, einen schwarzen, den ich mit Sicherheitsnadeln und Buttons verschönert habe.

Ich drifte ab. Zurück zu diesem Kleid – ich meine das Muster spricht eigentlich schon Bände, ich liebe es. Schwarz-Weiß, das nicht langweilig ist, Daumen hoch! Ein Highlight wäre auch noch der tiefe Ausschnitt vorne (am Rücken gibt’s ihn noch mal), das habe ich allerdings, da meine Eltern auch unter den Gästen waren, mit einem Spitzentop kaschiert.

Lederjacke drüber für unterwegs und fertig ist mein erstes Balloutfit für die Herbst/Winter Saison 2015/16 – was sagt ihr? „Yay or nay?“

What does it say about me, that the first picture in my head is Stephen King’s Carrie when I think of prom? I guess I shouldn’t comment on this anymore.

Every year in October ball (prom) season begins, every year in October I’m asking myself for the first time until May: What should I wear? I find it really hard to find the middle between that, what I think it’s my style (a little bit of clean, a little bit of rocking, a little bit of fancy and a little bit of girly – or so) and the dress code on such events. The so called evening attire.

Pity that doesn’t mean, that I can appear there in pajamas or sweat pants, so I’m using such evenings to wear dresses.

And I really like this one, somehow it’s the right mix between my style (see above) and a ball dress. The fabric is a firmer one, but I really like this for the length, this way the cut comes the best. I just like A-line, if it’s “in” like these days or not, like the situation was years ago as I bought my first skirt, my one and only, which I customized with baby pins and buttons.

But I’m spacing out. Back to this dress – I mean, the pattern speaks for itself, I love it. Black and white, which is not boring, thumbs up! A highlight would’ve been the low neckline (you also have this on the back too) but I masked this a little bit with a lace top as my parents were with us.

Leather jacket and ready is my first ball outfit for the autumn/winter season 2015/16 – what do you say? “Yay or nay?”
