Über NeedToBreathe bin ich erst vor kurzem gestolpert, obwohl es sie schon relative lange gibt. Ihr Stil erinnert mich irgendwie an Lifehouse, eine Band die ich ebenfalls recht gerne mag.

Um ehrlich zu sein, bin ich noch nicht dazu gekommen, mehrere Lieder von ihnen anzuhören, was ich sonst normalerweise immer mache – wenn’s hochkommt waren es drei. Aber dieses Lied hat mich in seinen Bann gezogen. Dieser Text macht so viel Mut und beschreibt einfach wie schön das Leben sein kann, wenn man nicht aufgibt. Es gibt einfach immer, absolut immer, etwas, wofür es sich lohnt zu kämpfen. Und der Sänger hat eine echt angenehme Stimme.

Mir ist in letzter Zeit aufgefallen, dass vor allem Bands mit christlichem Hintergrund sehr starke und ausdrucksvolle Texte haben, wie beispielsweise Flyleaf oder eben NeedToBreathe. Obwohl ich selbst nicht religiös bin, gefallen mir einfach so viele Bands die Gott so sehr miteinbeziehen. Der Grund ist folgender: Man kann Texte auf so viele verschiedene Weisen interpretieren. Nur weil ich hier schreibe, was das Lied für mich bedeutet, heißt das noch lange nicht, dass jemand anders dasselbe dabei empfindet. Genau das ist aber das Schöne an der Musik. Sie ist so vielseitig und es gibt so viele Lieder, in denen man ein Stück von sich selbst findet oder der Situation in der man sich gerade befindet.

I recently stumbled over NeedToBreathe altough they exist relatively long. Their style reminds me of Lifehouse, a band which I also like very much.

To be honest, I still not listened to many songs of them what I usually do everytime – maybe three songs. But this song has dragged me into his spell. These lyrics give so much courage and these words describe how beautiful life can be if one doesn’t give up. There is always something what’s worth fighting for. And the singer has an extremely pleasant voice.

I noticed, that especially bands with a Christian background have very strong and expressive lyrics, just like Flyleaf or NeedToBreathe. Although I am not really religious there are so many bands I like which deal with God. The reason is the following: One can interpret lyrics in so many different ways. Only because I write what the song means for me, this doesn’t mean that somebody else feels the same. Exactly this is the beauty of music. She is so versatile and there are so many songs, in which one can find a piece of himself or the situation he’s in.
