Als ich auf Fit For Rivals gestoßen bin, war von Anfang an begeistert. Vor allem der Refrain hat mich richtig gefangen genommen.
Was mich besonders fasziniert hat, ist die Einstellung von Frontfrau Renee Phoenix. Ich hab mir ein paar Interviews durchgelesen und muss wirklich sagen: Respekt. Sie denkt nicht in Schubladen, war oft mit Vorurteilen konfrontiert und versucht deshalb selbst keine zu haben. Und sie zieht die Dinge, die sie will wirklich durch, ganz egal was andere dazu sagen könnten. Falls ihr mehr dazu lesen wollt schaut mal auf www.afterellen.com vorbei.
Das Lied Damage beschreibt das Gefühl unterschätzt zu werden ziemlich gut. Ihr kennt das bestimmt, wenn Menschen über euch urteilen, ohne dass sie euch kennen oder? Sowas nervt einfach. Und gerade denen will man es manchmal einfach beweisen. Man will ihnen zeigen, dass man die Dinge sehr wohl ganz gut schaffen kann. Aber im Grunde genommen müssen wir ja niemandem was beweisen. Trotzdem tun wir es immer wieder, warum eigentlich?
Hört euch das Lied am besten einfach an, ihr werdet bestimmt merken, was ich daran so mag. ;)

As I searched for some good bands, because I don't want to listen to the same ones again and again, I've seen Fit For Rivals and was inspired from the beginning. Above all the chorus really got me.
What particularly fascinates me is the attitude of front woman Renee Phoenix. I've read some interviews and really have to say: Respect. She does not think in stereotypes, was often confronted with prejudices and therefore she tries to not make them. And she does the things she really wants to do, no matter what other people might say. If you want to read more about it check out www.afterellen.com.
The song Damage describes the feeling of being underestimated quite well. You certainly know this if people judge you without even knowing you? Something like that simply irritates me. One wants to show them that one can do things alone quite well. But basically we don't have to prove ourselves. Nevertheless, we do it over and over again, why actually?
