Rise Against habe ich früher immer nur so am Rande gehört, einzelne Lieder, aber in den letzten Jahren habe ich mir immer mal wieder ein paar Lieder von ihnen runtergeladen und musste mir nach und nach eingestehen, dass ich diese Band echt richtig gut finde.

Vor allem das Album The Sufferer & The Witness finde ich sehr gelungen. Ich mag die Stimmung des Albums. Und ein Lied davon höre ich besonders gerne: Roadside.

Es ist so ruhig und voller Emotion und die Stimmen vom Rise-Against-Frontmann Tim McIlrath und der Sängerin von Holy Roman Empires – Emily Schambra – harmonieren perfekt.

Wie in jedes Lied, kann man auch in dieses viel hineininterpretieren. Eine mögliche Sichtweise, die auch ich als logisch erachte, wäre, dass es um die Zeit nach einer Trennung geht. Wie man sich dann fühlt. Man will im ersten Moment einfach nur von allem und jedem in Ruhe gelassen werden, fühlt sich schwach und würde am liebsten nicht mehr weitermachen.
In einem Forum habe ich aber auch gelesen, dass es Leute gibt, die das Lied mit dem Leid eines Tieres assoziieren. Vielleicht ist dieser Gedanke auch gar nicht so weit hergeholt, da alle Band-Mitglieder sich für den Tierschutz bekennen bzw.  Unterstützer der Organisationen PETA und Sea Shepherd, aber auch Vegetarier sind.
Also insofern wären wir wieder bei meinem Lieblingspunkt an der Musik: Sie ist, so wie man sie haben möchte. Sie bedeutet für jeden etwas Anderes.

In letzter Zeit bin ich nicht wirklich gut im Worte-finden, für das, was ich denke. Vielleicht liegt es am Stress, da die Schule wieder begonnen hat – jeijj, das letzte Jahr (!) – vielleicht aber auch daran, dass ich mich nicht auf eine Sache konzentrieren kann, sondern immer alles zugleich machen muss, weil ich Angst habe, nicht fertig zu werden. In diesem Sinne: Verzeiht mir meine etwas kürzeren Beiträge in letzter Zeit. Hoffentlich wird es bald besser.

In the past I listend just to some certain songs by Rise Against but within the last few years I downloaded some songs again and again and I had to admit to myself that I like this band pretty much.

Especially the album The Sufferer & The Witness is quite excellent. I like the atmosphere of the album. But there is one song which I like eminently: Roadside.
It’s such a soft song full of emotions and the voices from the Rise-Against-Frontman Tim McIlrath and the singer of the band Holy Roman Empire – Emily Schambra – harmonize perfectly.

Like in every song, one can interpret much. It would be a possible position which I also consider as logical that it is about the time after the ending of a relationship. One only wants to be alone at the first time, one feels not strong enough and doesn’t want to go on.
In a discussion forum I read that some people think that it is about the sorrow of an animal. It may be that they think so because all band-members are active members of the organisations PETA and Sea Shepard but also vegetarians.
Therefore we are at my favorite point at the music again: It is like you want it. The meaning of a songs a different for everbody.

I am not good with words lately. Perhaps it’s because of the stress since school has started – the last year (!) – but maybe it’s because I can’t focus on one thing. I do so many things at the same time, because I’m afraid I don’t finish everything I have to do. Hopefully this gets better soon.
