Titel: Crossed My Heart And Hope To Die
Künstler: Sentenced
Album: The Cold White Light
Veröffentlicht: 2002
Lieblingszeile: "Will you wait for me there where
our autumn dawns? There, beyond the dreary seas."
Sentenced hat bewiesen, dass die Finnen einfach
tolle Musik machen.
Das Lied Crossed My Heart And Hope To Die behandelt,
Was ich
Saaresto, dem Sänger von Poets Of The
Sentenced has proved that the Finnish simply make
terrific music. There are so many really good Finnish Metal-Bands. Whereby Sentenced counts to the oldest and
unfortunately to the ones which not exist anymore.I didn’t know them from Youtube – like all the others but from Casey who has a super taste of music by the way.
The song Crossed
My Heart And Hope To Die deals with the death like many other songs by
them. It is all about that his love has died and so did he. He has no will to
live, can’t find any sense in anything and hopes to die, preferably today.
I think it’s fierce that Finland has an
outstanding high suicide rate – one of the reasons why Sentenced deals with these topics. And nevertheless I wouldn’t have
imagined that it is like that because Finland seems so peaceful to me.. so..as
if everything would match. Always. But that would be unnatural.
However I extremely like this sad and melancholy style
of the band. Many Metal-Bands deal with bad topics but Sentenced does this in another way. The
let you feel with them so well. Primarily I fall for the voice of Ville Laihaila. I could listen to him for hours – almost as long as
to Marko Saaresto, the singer of Poets Of The Fall, which is also a
Finnish band. I can’t say it often enough: The Finnish got it.
Now to the really sad part: The band doesn’t
exist anymore – as mentioned above. But the sadest thing is: Miika Tenkula, the guitarist died in
2009. That means that one doesn’t need to wait for a reunion because it wouldn’t
be the same.

Such a great band and Miika's death has been a great loss.
AntwortenLöschenTo me, personally, the biggest blow was losing my favorite singer, bass player and friend Peter Steele of Type O Negative in 2010.
Keep on rocking.
