TRAVEL | Last Week in Vienna...

Anfang dieser Woche waren wir ein paar Tage in Wien. Nicht, dass wir dort etwas wahnsinnig Spannendes gemacht hätten, aber dennoch: Es war unser erster gemeinsamer Urlaub. Und heute kommt sozusagen die Zusammenfassung ohne viele Bilder der Stadt oder davon, was wir uns angesehen haben. Wir sind nicht so, dass wir alles fotografieren, wir genießen lieber den Moment mit den Augen. Wir können uns dann später besser daran erinnern, was sonst immer recht schwierig ist. Da sieht man dann plötzlich irgendein Gebäude und weiß nicht mal mehr, was es ist.

In the beginning of the week we went to Vienna for a few days. It wasn't like that, that we did something interesting there, but nevertheless: It was our first vacation together. And today you see the summary without many pictures of the city or the places we visited. We aren't like that, that we photograph everything, we enjoy the moment with our eyes. We can remember the things better this way. Just imagine you see a picture of a building and you just don't now what it was exactly.

Tag 1: Stephansplatz // Day 1: Stephansplatz

Diese Fotos sind am Stephansplatz vorm Stephansdom entstanden. Dieser wird schon seit einiger Zeit restauriert, obwohl wir ja ehrlich zugeben müssen, dass er uns dunkel fast besser gefällt. Das sieht viel geheimnisvoller aus, viel eher nach Gotik. Diese hellen Steine erinnern irgendwie so gar nicht daran. Auf jeden Fall sind wir ganz stolz darauf, nicht von den Animateuren dort angesprochen worden zu sein, das kommt wahrscheinlich davon, wenn man nicht mit einer Kamera vor der Nase vorm Dom steht.

We made this pictures in front of the St. Stephen's Cathedral. We have to admit that we rather like it dark because it looked more gothic somehow. The light stones don't remind of gothic. In any case we are really proud of the fact, that no one of tourist attracters talked to us. Maybe because we didn't stand in front of the Cathedral with a camera in front of one's face.


An diesem Outfit mag ich den Kimono am liebsten. Mein erstes Blümchenteil, kann man eigentlich fast nicht glauben, weil sie ja schon so lange "in" sind. Aber ich persönlich fand Blumenmuster lange scheiße. Aber als ich das Teil zum Spaß - ja, ich habe ihn anprobiert, weil er zuerst so lächerlich aussah, deshalb wurde er mit einer kurzen Jeansweste kombiniert... Kennt ihr das? Oder sind wir die einzigen, die das tun? Jedenfalls sah er im Spiegel an mir so gut aus, dass ich mich direkt verliebt habe. Tadaa! Und ich könnte mir meinen Kleiderschrank ohne ihn nicht mehr vorstellen.

I really love this kimono. My first piece with a flower pattern, one couldn't believe it, because they have been being "in" for such a long time. In my view most of them are just awful. But I tried this one on - just for fun - in combination with a short jeans vest... Do you know this? Or are we the only who are doing this? Trying on ugly clothes? Anyhow it looked great in the mirror, so I directly fell in love. Tadaa.! I couldn't imagine my wardrobe without it.

Tag 2: Tiergarten Schönbrunn // Day 2: Zoo Vienna

Es geht einfach nicht, in Wien zu sein, und nicht den Tiergarten Schönbrunn zu besuchen - für uns zumindest nicht. Eigentlich wollten wir am zweiten Tag ja ins Museum, aber wir hatten im Vorhinein eines mit dem anderen verwechselt, und das hatte nicht offen. Wie auch immer, sind wir dann Schönbrunn gefahren - was im Nachhinein gesehen ziemlich dämlich war. So ganz ohne Sonnencreme, bei der Hitze, wenn die meisten Tiere sowieso schlafen. Und man selbst auch schlafen will. Nichtsdestotrotz war es ein schöner Tag, vor allem die Seelöwenfütterung hat uns begeistert, die ist einfach immer gut. Und es auch wert, mindestens eine halbe Stunde zu warten. Wirklich.

To be in Vienna without visiting the zoo "Schönbrunn" is kind of impossible - at least for us. Originally we wanted to go to the museum, but we hadn't got the opening times in advance. Somehow we forgot to do this or mixed them up. However we drove to the zoo instead. Now we'd say this was a bad idea, without sun cream, in this heat, when most of the animals sleep. And we wanted to sleep. Nonetheless it was a great day, especially the feeding of the sea lions was very cool. This is an event worth watching and waiting for it half an hour. Believe us.

Dieses Outfit ist nicht unbedingt spannend. Sommerkleidchen kontrastreich irgendwie. Aber ohne die Docs einen Tag lang herumzugehen, bergauf, bergab, das wäre Folter. Ganz ehrlich - kein Sommerschuh kann das. Ich hatte keine Fußschmerzen! Und der Gürtel war (wie der Kimono oben) ein Fall von Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Ursprünglich hat er allerdings 30 Euro gekostet, was ich mir einfach nicht leisten wollte, dafür, wie oft ich ihn tragen würde. Aber Ende Juni war er dann endlich im Sale und ich hab ihn für die Hälfte gekauft. Ich war so glücklich.

This outfit isn't really interesting. Summer dress in contrast somehow. But wandering through a zoo all day long without my Docs - this would be torture. Honestly - there is no summer sandal which can do this. My feet didn't hurt.! And the belt was - like the kimono above - a case of love at the first sight. Originally it was available for 30 Euros, but I didn't wanted to buy it for this price. So I waited for the sale - and finally I got it less 50%.! I am so happy.

Tag 3: Naturhistorisches Museum // Day 3: Museum of Natural History

Es hört sich vielleicht eigenartig an, aber ein Grund, warum wir uns für einen "Wien-Urlaub" entschieden haben, waren die Museen. Denn obwohl wir in Österreich wohnen und auch schon öfter in Wien waren, in ein Museum hatten wir es bis Mittwoch nicht geschafft. Es gibt viele verschiedene Museen, beispielsweise gibt es in Wien in einem Sexshop ein Museum über die Geschichte der Verhütungsmittel, quasi ein Sexmuseum (dessen Eintritt frei ist!). Wir dachten aber eher an die Klassiker, sprich Technisches, Naturhistorisches und Kunsthistorisches Museum. Letztendlich waren wir im Naturhistorischen Museum - und es war echt toll. Vor allem das untere Stockwerk, weil einem plötzlich bewusst wird, wie dumm es von uns ist, dieser Erde durch Internet & Co in Erinnerung bleiben zu wollen. Beeindruckend.

Maybe it sounds a bit weird, but a reason for travelling to Vienna were the museums. But although we live in Austria and were in Vienna several times, we didn't visit a museum 'til Wednesday. There are many different museums for example there is one in a sex shop about the history of contraceptives, quasi a sex museum (and the entry is free!). But we thought about visiting the classic ones, i. e. the Technical Museum, Museum of Art History and Museum of Natural History. We decided to visit the Museum of Natural History - and it was really great. Especially the ground floor. Suddenly it's so clear, we were so aware that all the things we do on the Internet to remain on this earth is so stupid. This is so impressing, really. 

Das Outfit ist eines meiner Lieblingsoutfit. Mein erstes All-over-White-Ding, und es gefällt mir richtig gut. Am besten daran gefällt mir, wie bequem es ist. Und dass ich endlich einen weißen Skort habe, nachdem ich schon seit vorigem Jahr im Herbst einen wollte. Und ich weiß nicht, ob man es erkennt, aber meine Dekolleté und meine Arme sind dunkler geworden - mein sommerliches Dunkelweiß entwickelt sich ja.! Das Outfit werde ich in diesem Sommer auf jeden Fall noch öfter tragen.

This look is one of my favourites, my first all-over-white-outfit, and I really like it. Probably because it's really comfy and I finally got my white skort. I have been wanting it so bad since the last autumn. And I don't know if you noticed it, but I am not so pale than before.! Now I am dark white - it's developing. I will definitely wear this more often this summer.

Unser Fazit vom Wien-Kurzurlaub: Nie wieder ein Städtetrip im Sommer und Graz gefällt uns irgendwie besser. Vielleicht bilden wir uns das nur ein, aber es hat mehr Charme. Und wer sich das alles wirklich durchgelesen hat - Respekt, und vielen Dank an euch. Ihr seid die wahren Leser, und dafür sind wir wirklich dankbar.
