Cinema Bizarre ist eine Band aus Deutschland, die sich eigentlich schon aufgelöst haben, aber das Lied Lovesongs (They Kill Me) muss ich euch einfach einmal zeigen.

 Das erste Mal gehört habe ich es auf VIVA und ich war sofort Feuer und Flamme. Ich fand es damals cool, dass die ja alle so „emo“ aussahen und noch dazu gute Musik machten. Also bin ich vor dem Fernseher gesessen und hab mit meinem Motorola, das sogar schon über eine Audioaufnahme von 30 Sekunden verfügte, und das Lied aufgenommen. Denn eine andere Möglichkeit das Lied bald wieder zu hören, gab es für mich nicht. Ob man es sich vorstellen kann oder nicht: damals wussten kleine Kinder noch nicht, wie man MP3s runterlädt und Handys, die sie abspielen konnten gab es so gut wie kaum und wenn dann kosteten diese ein Vermögen.

Ich saß also mitten im Wohnzimmer vor dem Fernseher und befahl meiner Familie für einen Moment ruhig zu sein, noch dazu ganz hektisch, weil ich ja das ganze Lied aufnehmen wollte.

Im Endeffekt hab ich mir diese einminütige Aufnahme immer wieder angehört – die Qualität war grauenhaft.

Ich weiß mittlerweile gar nicht mehr warum ich dieses Lied so mochte. Es ist nicht wirklich besonders, es gibt mir nichts. Da ist einfach nichts Aufregendes. Auch der Text ist total deprimierend. Aber trotzdem höre ich es hin und wieder. Es gibt Lieder, die man einfach nicht vergisst, aus welchem Grund auch immer. Das ist eines davon. Es erinnert mich einfach an einen Teil meiner Kindheit, der immer ganz lustig war – Lieder mit dem Handy aufnehmen. Heute denke ich oft daran, wie lustig das eigentlich ausgesehen haben muss.

So sehr ich den ach-so-tollen-Fortschritt manchmal verabscheue, er hat auch Vorteile. Ich bin froh, dass es so einfach ist, Musik überall hin mitzunehmen.

Und trotzdem werde ich wohl nie aufhören, mir CDs zu kaufen. Es ist einfach was ganz anderes die Musik auch irgendwie anfassen zu können.

Cinema Bizarre is a band from Germany which has already broke up but I have to show you the song Lovesongs (They Kill Me). First time I saw it on the channel VIVA and I was fire and flame immediately. I thought they had a cool look and also played good music. So I sat in front of the TV with my Motorola which already could record music up to 30 seconds. I tried to do that because there was no other possibility to hear this song again in the next few hours. Whether one can imagine it or not: at that time, little children didn’t know that one can download mp3s.

So I sat in middle of the living room in front of the TV and told my family to be quiet for a moment, because I wanted to record the whole song. In the end I have listened to this one-minute-record again and again – the quality was terrible.

Meanwhile, I don’t know why I liked this song so much. It isn’t really special, it gives me nothing. There is simply nothing exciting. The text is also extremely depressing. Nevertheless I still listen to it. There are always songs which you can’t forget – for what reason ever. This is one of them. It reminds me of my childhood, which was very funny – record songs with the mobile phone. I still think how amusing I must have looked.I detest the oh-so-terrific progress very much sometimes, it also brings advantages. I am glad, that it is so easy to take music with me. And nevertheless I will never stop buying CDs. It’s simply something completely different to be able to grasp the music.
