LISTEN | Down The Sunset

Titel: To A (Real) Friend
Künstler: Down The Sunset
Album: Down The Sunset
Veröffentlicht: 2012
Lieblingszeile: “My hope is to get you out but where will you be?”

To A (Real) Friend gestoßen.

Down The Sunset is a five-man band from Austria, to be exactly from Styria. They were one of the three supporting acts of the Kontrust-concert last month – and in my opinion the best. I heard something about the band in the forefront, but I never dealt with them. At the concert I have known one song, but didn’t know that it was by them. Also remarkable is that the band doesn’t have one singer, but three and each of them is better than the next.

It tells the story of two friends where one perishes. He drowns his sorrow in alcohol and gets depressive. However, the problem is that he couldn’t be helped in no case. What’s happening to the guy in the end is left open so everyone should have own thoughts of it.
I personally think that the one who writes the texts has much experience because the lyrics – also of the other songs – are very emotional.

I have occupied myself with them more intensively at home and noticed the song To A (Real) Friend. I thought the songs about a broken friendship but it’s more behind this.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any music videos online yet, but lyric videos which are well made. I noticed that they’re much better live – like many other bands. The voices were much more effective at the concert. Nevertheless one shouldn’t miss to hear something by them. I wish this band all the best and hope that they will get much more fans out there!
