Nothing Good Has Happened Yet ist das erste Lied von We Are The Ocean, einer Post-Hardcore Band aus England. Mittlerweile haben sie sich schon einen Namen gemacht, aber für die, die sie noch nicht kennen: Hört euch unbedingt was an – ist eine wirklich gute Band!

Im Lied geht es um eine Beziehung, die kurz davor ist zu scheitern. Wieder so ein typisches Thema für ein Lied, aber es beschreibt die ganze Situation auf eine sehr subtile Art und Weise. Es ist nicht so: „Oh mein Gott, es schmerzt so sehr. Es ist alles so schrecklich, ich will nicht mehr“, sondern gut mit Metaphern umschrieben.

Leider hat der Sänger Dan Brown die Band verlassen. Ursprünglich hieß es, er würde weiterhin als Manager der Band agieren, was dann aber aus privaten Gründen nicht passierte.
2012 wurde dann Liam Cromby als neuer Sänger ausgewählt. Er ist zwar nicht schlecht – sein Gesang ist mittelmäßig – aber wirklich gut eben auch nicht. Mir persönlich gibt er eben nichts. Auch wenn man sich die Live-Videos ansieht, merkt man, dass We Are The Ocean früher, mit Dan Brown, energiegeladener war. Sie hatten einfach mehr Power.

Wenn der Sänger aussteigt, wäre es manchmal einfach besser, wenn man unter einem anderen Namen weitermacht, anstatt an der alten Band festzuhalten. Wie auch beispielsweise Flyleaf oder eben wie letztens erwähnt Three Days Grace.

Nothing Good Has Happened Yet is the first song by We Are The Ocean, a post-hardcore band from England.  They already have made a name to themselves by now, but for those who don’t know them yet: Listen to them – it’s a really good band!

The song is about a relationship which is going to fail. Again such a tipical topic for a song but it describes the whole situation in a very subtle way. It’s not like that: “Oh my god, it hurts so much. Everything is so terrible, I don’t want to live anymore”, but rather paraphrased with metaphors.

Unfortunately, the singer Dan Brown left the band. Originally it was said, that he would proceed as the manager of the band furthermore, but this didn’t happen because of private reasons. Liam Cromby was selected as the new singer of the band in 2012. He isn’t bad – his voice is indifferent – but not also really good. His voice doesn’t give me anything. Even if one watches the live-videos, one remembers that We Are The Ocean were loaded with energy with Dan Brown. They simply had more power before.

If the singer gets out, sometimes it would be better when one carries on under another name instead of adhering t the old band. Just like Flyleaf or Three Days Grace.
