LISTEN | Matchbook Romance

I know Matchbook Romance already a rather long time for now but do you know what is really funny? Approximately one week ago I found out that the song Monsters has a music video. I didn't know this and I was absolutely surprised. So surprised that I have read so many comments under the video. Unbelievably many people think that this song sounds like Pain by Jimmy Eat World or Art is Hard by Cursive or even like Radiohead!

This song is about the bad in the world like Hollywood, marketing, advertisments, etc. I like this song very much but I can't share this opinion. I don't think that these things are only bad ones. One can influence others very much due to this and it is proved that there are people who are susceptible to advertising - like me (I constantly drive Casey crazy because of this.) But nevertheless I think, that these things became so ordinary for us, that we couldn't imagine it differently and the market wouldn't work either. No, the whole economy wouldn't work anymore. In this regard it is difficult for me to hold an opinion. Because it is double-edged sword. One can say, that the economy wouldn't work without the buying behavior of the consument and on the other hand one could say, that it is bad to impose people things they don't need.

Do we really need twenty basics in our closet which are all the same? Do we need all this decoration in our homes that gathers dust? No, not really, but could we live without? We probably should, but no body wants to quit his "luxury". Sustainability is also important, but to live like this one hundred percent of his live is almost impossible. That shouldn't be an excuse, but I think that one can do many things with just small steps and one shouldn't put somebody in the pillory, because he isn't like oneself. I think, that it became some kind of "trend" to demonize everything which is influencing and was normal for a long time for us.
